Experiencing the Joy of the Watoto Children’s Choir at Shiloh Christian Ministries

Recently, members of AltarSong Worship were blessed with the opportunity to attend a live performance by the Watoto Children’s Choir right here at Shiloh Christian Ministries in Sierra Vista, Arizona. What we experienced was far more than a performance; it was a powerful night of worship, joy, testimony, and the unmistakable presence of God.

Who Is the Watoto Children’s Choir?

The Watoto Children’s Choir, based in Kampala, Uganda, is part of the global ministry of Watoto Church. Each choir is composed of approximately 18–22 children, many of whom are orphaned or vulnerable. Through music, story, and dance, the choir travels internationally to share the hope they have found in Christ and to raise awareness for Watoto’s incredible work caring for children and rebuilding families in Uganda.

Their ministry supports Watoto Villages, which provide safe homes, medical care, education, and spiritual discipleship for children who have lost parents or support systems due to war, disease, or poverty. The choir’s tours help raise both financial support and global awareness so the work can continue to flourish.

A Night Filled With Worship, Testimony, and Hope

Those in attendance were completely captivated by the children’s extraordinary talent. Their vibrant harmonies, joyful dances, and radiant smiles created an atmosphere of pure worship. It was impossible to watch without feeling uplifted and inspired.

But perhaps the most moving part of the evening was hearing the children’s personal testimonies. Many shared stories of heartbreaking loss and trauma—yet every testimony was wrapped in a message of redemption, healing, and the transforming love of Jesus. Their lives are living proof that when the Church responds with compassion, hope is restored.

The generosity of sponsors and supporters around the world plays a direct role in these children’s restoration. Because of that support, the Watoto children receive food, education, medical care, a loving family environment, and the opportunity to grow in their faith. Through their ministry tours, they are now giving back—impacting communities like ours with the joy and truth of the Gospel.
